Sri. Ranjan Kumar Beura hails from the city of temples, Bhubaneswar (ODISHA). He was introduced to the realm of music at the tender age of five, by his musically inclined parents who have been his source of inspiration. His journey towards musical perfection was ably guided by his mentors Pandit Sunil Singh Mahant and Smt. Bhubaneswari Mishra. He then received advanced training under Padmabhushan Dr.N.Rajam.
He has done his graduation and post graduation in Hindustani classical violin from Utkal Sangeetha Mahavidhyalaya in Bhubaneswar, ODISHA. He is a Graded (B high) artist from All India Radio. He is the winner of Yuva Kala san man -award 2012, Dr.Sarvapalli Radha Krishna Award- 2002, Best Music Direction for National Youth Festival - 2004 and many more. The principal flavor of his musical expressions is from the Kirana Gharana style of Hindustani classical music, which houses many eminent musicians such as Barat Ratna Bhimsen Joshi, Ustad Abdul Kasim Khan, Ustad Abdul Wahed Khan, Dr Gangubai Hangal, Pandit Sawai Ghandharav ,Mohammed Rhfi ( play back signer) etc.
His flair for innovation, while maintaining the sanctity for tradition, has been widely acclaimed by his audience, both in India and the world. He is a well versed violinist equally adept in various styles such as Carnatic, jass, blues, rock, Arabic and so on.
This diverse proficiency, combined with the mystical ability to bridge the mood of his audience with his extempore renditions has made him a favorite amongst the younger cosmopolitan audience. He has also shared the stage with some renowned artists like Pt. Suresh Talwalkar, Pt. Anido Chatarjee, Pt. Ravindra Yahugal, Pt. Yogesh samsi, Pt. Sanjaya Mukharjee, Pt. Shubhankar Banarjee, Vidwan Anoor Ananth Krishna Sharma to name a few.
To break the stereotype that violin is used only for pathos BGM, Ranjan has created a new trend and made people get on their toes and dance with his peppy numbers. He has also shared the stage with many main stream celebrities like S P Balsubrahmaniyam, Pt. Ravindra Jain, Pt. Ajaya Pohankar, Hariharan, Vijay Prakash, Rajesh Krishna, S Janaki, Malgudi Shuba, Shivamani, Gurukiran, Rajesh Vaidya and many more.
